Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical relationship with a key external engineering partner, acting as the primary technical relay and ensuring collaboration remains productive, aligned, and focused on high-quality outcomes.
- Participate early in technical refinement, architecture, and design discussions for partner-driven features, helping clarify requirements, identify trade-offs, and establish pragmatic implementation approaches.
- Guide partner engineers on the platform's architecture, coding standards, development practices, performance expectations, and maintainability principles.
- Review, challenge, and elevate external contributions before they are integrated into the core codebase, ensuring consistency, reliability, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Contribute hands-on to critical areas of the codebase, particularly where external partner work intersects with core engineering initiatives.
- Facilitate technical refinement sessions, design reviews, pair programming, code reviews, and structured feedback sessions with both internal and partner-side engineers.
- Promote strong engineering practices and continuously improve development quality, performance, and consistency across teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Product Owners/Managers on task sizing, scope definition, roadmap planning, iteration, and milestone alignment for partner-related initiatives.
- Serve as a bridge between the external engineering team and internal technical leadership, ensuring contributions remain aligned with architecture, product priorities, and engineering standards.
- Proactively identify risks, blockers, dependencies, and technical alignment issues, providing clear and structured reporting to engineering and product leadership.

This is a high-impact technical leadership role focused on strengthening collaboration around an open-source cybersecurity platform.
You will serve as the technical anchor for a key external engineering partner contributing directly to the core project.
The role combines hands-on software engineering with architecture, technical refinement, code quality, and mentorship.

Accountabilities:
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong record of reliable, iterative delivery and the ability to operate effectively at staff or technical-lead level.
- Strong hands-on TypeScript experience, combined with practical knowledge of Node.js, React, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to software architecture and make pragmatic technical trade-offs while balancing scalability, maintainability, delivery speed, and stakeholder needs.
- Strong hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or LLM-based coding agents to accelerate and improve software engineering workflows.
- Strong autonomy and ownership, with a proactive approach to identifying issues, unblocking work, communicating risks, and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and diplomacy skills, particularly the ability to influence engineering practices and technical decisions without relying on formal authority.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote, async-first environment with colleagues and stakeholders distributed across multiple time zones.
- Experience working with external stakeholders, technology partners, vendors, or distributed engineering teams is a strong plus.
- Open-source experience, including contributing to, maintaining, or leading open-source projects, is highly valued.
- Previous experience in cybersecurity or Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) is not required but would be a significant advantage.
